None Of Us Are Getting Out Alive

None of us are getting out of here alive

I reckon it all starts when we are five

the joy and the fun in living excites

shiny new things are in your sights.

Your teen years expand the world

when your limbs and sex unfurl

two score years we all go wild

party, mingle, fuck, beguile.

Marriage and children,

life's never the same.

Money saved.

Chest shaved.

Quadruple bypass.

Out to grass.

Grandchildren came.

Pills and frames.

Staring at the grave.

Memories gone,

for everyone.
