A girl stepped in front of me
On Collins Street
Oblivious, on her phone,
She didn’t care about me,
And, I didn’t expect it.
I walked into her
And she stumbled sideways
And dropped her coffee,
She cared then.
She insisted I buy her a new drink
I apologised to her and kept walking
I wasn’t even sure I had to do that much,
But, be generous, I thought, it doesn't cost.
