Who is the War For?

Ice is a scourge killing the young

but, this is not how the war will be won

(telling half truths)

only how our song is sung

in the pages of the popular news.

Ice is a scourge killing the young,

as a drama it is number one,

(in our drama addicted lives)

this is not how the war will be won,

unless we look at the problem before ice begun.

Ice is a scourge killing the young

addicted from the very first try,

(fools and horses cry)

we are not beyond telling any lie,

to somehow make our fear match the crime.

The Meaning of Life

The sun is shining

the grass is green

that is all life

is meant to mean

Smoking

I like smoking.

I don't smoke, but I like smoking.

I did smoke,

but I don't smoke any more.

I liked smoking, though,

the style,

the charm,

it was who I am.

I was good at it.

I thought it was cool, for the longest time.

And now it's a crime.

Death Row

Commit the crime, do the time.

Is there a worse thing to say

to someone on death row?

Are people that unthinking

or that unkind?

Or simply that blind?

I cry for Andrew

and for Myuran too,

but I also cry

for Australia

and Australian’s

for how hard

their "fair go"

has become.

Capitalism

Goodness is a bore

Business is a whore

(3rd world) People are the price

You pay for nice things.

Winner

I make an investment

in my future every week,

I buy a lottery ticket

so life can be sweet
