We’re collectively scared

because it suits politicians

and newspaper proprietors

for us to feel that way.

A happy life

does no one in charge

any good,

is what they say.

What can I say about climate change?

I hope it doesn’t hurt too much,

and I hope I am with the people I love,

when the end comes.
