Refugee Policy

Rat tat tat tat tat

The guns of racism sound daily

Disguised as keeping us safe

Keeping the foreigners out of this place

And keeping the politicians

Ruling our space.

Tall Poppy

Be a tall poppy

Run, succeed, win

Be generous when you look back

Because this is where you begin.

Be kind

Think fondly

Remember well, truthfully

Don’t forget,

Because we’ll remember you.

Different

Lane departure, baby,

Beep, beep, beep,

when we deviate.

Who would dare?

we won’t have any

of that “different” here.

We’re not going in

for that sort of thing,

thank you very much.

Foggy Foggy Do

Foggy foggy do

The morning was brittle and grey

The air looked like pea soup

The birds sang anyway.

I gazed out the window

the street had fuzzy edges

cotton wool in the urban meadow

cold like a winter sketch

I was taken aback, I was surprised

I felt a shiver, I felt the cold

Not what I expected as I rise

Shrug, let the day unfold.

Broken Dreams

Broken rice

broken dreams

so many rich people

who are mean.

A cup of beans,

plates of truffles

only for some

humanity buckles.

Shut Up!

Shut up!

Sometimes,

I just wanna scream,

Shut Up World!

Be fucking quiet, all of you,

there is joy in the silence.

Shut up!

Be bored,

fidget, do nothing,

you’ll find inspiration there,

or I will.

Shut up!

It's a Dirty Dirty World

It's a dirty, dirty world,

have you heard?

People say one thing,

and then they swerve.

It can hurt.

What have you observed?

Trust nobody,

sometimes it’s the system,

sometimes it’s the truth.

Politicians lie

business’ cheat

religion hates

people discriminate.

It’s really tough

people can’t keep up

and the rich wanna

take more,

makes no difference

how rich they are.

And we’re all judged,

on how much we’ve got.

It doesn’t seem to matter

what’s in your heart.

The Relief He Felt

He felt a failure

So he grabbed a sailor

With an azalea

Who had a lovely trailer,

Down by the pool of tranquility.

He felt relief

the sailor helped him forget

If only for a moment

For the time it took to undress,

Down by the pool of “getting wet.”

Mike's Spike

Mike's spike

onya bike

what a delight

in full flight

all his muscles in sight,

as his thighs

peddle him by

in those tight shorts
